Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc (AIM: SYM), a global specialist in additive, masterbatch and concentrates technologies that enhance the properties of plastic and complementary non-plastic products, announces the following changes to the Board, effectively immediately.
Firstly, Nirj Deva has resigned his position as Chairman & Director of the Company and a subsidiary to concentrate commercially on his extensive global connections, now permitted following the end of his tenure as a member of the European Parliament.
The Company is however pleased to advise that Nirj has agreed to continue serving the Company as Special Ambassador. In this role, Nirj will focus on his many high-level connections and seek to unlock and create additional revenues for Symphony.
Nicolas Clavel, non-executive director has agreed to act as interim Chairman of the Board until a new chairman is appointed.
Commenting on Nirj’s change of role, Michael Laurier, CEO said: “The Board is enormously grateful for the contribution Nirj has made to the Company over the years and I am delighted that he has agreed to continue serving Symphony in his new role as Special Ambassador. His departure as chairman however provides the Company with an opportunity to appoint a new individual to provide fresh impetus at this exciting time with more governments legislating against the manufacture of non-biodegradable plastics.”
