Sancus Lending Group Limited – LEND – Directorate Change
The Company announces that, following the successful restructuring and refinancing of the Group, Andy Whelan has resigned as Chief Executive Officer and director of the Group.
Mr Whelan will continue to carry out his role as Chief Executive Officer and director until 30 June 2021 in order to facilitate an orderly transition with Rory Mepham who will assume the role of interim Chief Executive Officer on that date.
Mr Mepham has extensive experience in corporate finance, capital raising, debt finance, asset and fund management and property development. Mr Mepham currently has responsibility for the funding and origination parts of the business, having joined the Group in January 2021.
Dan Walker will assume the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. Mr. Walker currently acts as Chief Operating Officer of the Group and Managing Director of Sancus UK, having joined the Group in January 2018. Mr Walker spent over 6 years at Linklaters before joining Lloyds for 10 years as Director of the Strategic Transactions group. Mr Walker has led the development of the Sancus UK business which is a key growth area for the Group.
Mr Mepham and Mr Walker will not become directors of the Company at this time but will report to the Board. The Board is actively considering succession planning arrangements and a further announcement will be made in due course.
