Pilat Media Global plc, the leading supplier of business management software to the media industry, is pleased to announce the signing of a new contract with FOXTEL Management Pty Limited of Australia. FOXTEL is an existing client of the Company that originally licensed and has been using only the Video On Demand (VOD) module of the Company's IBMS system to support its on demand services. The new contract has been negotiated to govern the parties' relationship going forward as FOXTEL intends to license and implement additional parts of the IBMS system. Under this contract, fee-earning work has commenced on the scoping and the planning of the potential implementation of IBMS Rights at FOXTEL later this year. The progression from the scoping to the implementation phase is still subject to FOXTEL's approval based on the results of the scoping project.
FOXTEL is Australia's leading subscription television provider and is connected to over 1.65 million subscribing households on cable and satellite through retail and wholesale distribution. With more than 200 channels covering news, sport, general entertainment, movies, documentaries, music and children's programming, FOXTEL reaches around six million viewers. FOXTEL is owned by Telstra Corporation Ltd (50%), The News Corporation Ltd (25%), and Consolidated Media Holdings Limited (25%).
IBMS Rights adds into IBMS a rich set of features and capabilities designed to help broadcasters utilise the programme rights they license or produce in a more controlled and optimal fashion. Designed to meet the more complex demands of today's multi-platform market, IBMS Rights supports the multi-purposing of content within contractual constraints across different services and devices.
