A Cautionary Note

Finally, a word of warning – beware of spam e-mails tipping small illiquid companies which could unfortunately be about to become more frequent. This practice has been relatively common for US stocks and last week AIM-listed Patientline was recommended anonymously. Whilst the underlying share price moved up sharply, it is doubtful whether many people actually made money through buying in. The bid-offer spread on Patientline is huge and clearly you would have to be either very brave or foolish to buy shares on the back of an unsolicited e-mail!
